Sailing Section Annual General Meeting

1st March, 14:30 - 16:30

The Sailing Section AGM is an opportunity to have your say on how the Section is run. The bar and the galley will be open during the AGM. 


Key Dates 

We review the current sailing section rules at the AGM, if you would like to propose an amendment to the current Sailing Section Rules (copy of rules attached), email sailing.secretary@stewartbywatersportsclub.co.uk by the 1st February 2026

A draft agenda for the AGM has been attached, to propose an additional agenda item email sailing.secretary@stewartbywatersportsclub.co.uk by the 15th February 2026.

Please also ensure you have read the minutes from the 2025 AGM as these will be approved at the 2026 AGM.

To propose and second any new officers, committee members, or management representatives you must send these to sailing.secretary@stewartbywatersportsclub.co.uk by the 15th February 2026.


Election of Committee Members

All current officers (Commodore, Vice-Commodore, Secretary, and Treasurer) must be re-elected at the AGM each year. 

All committee members who remain in role have agreed to continue and this will be voted upon at the AGM enblock. 

New committee members who have been co-opted by the current committee during the course of the year will need to be individually voted in at the AGM

Vacant position; Fundraising Coordinator (grant applications etc) if interested please email sailing.secretary@stewartbywatersportsclub.co.uk 

Details of the current committee can be found in the agenda attached. 


After February 15th, a final agenda will be produced including any proposals submitted.

Each ordinary member and adult family member is eligible to vote on any new officers, committee members, rule suggestions, and any other business that is raised during the AGM.

Junior and student members do not have voting rights at an AGM.

If you are unable to attend but would like to vote on any of the items proposed on the agenda, proxy voting forms will be available once the agenda has been finalised.

You do not need to tell us if you intend to attend the AGM (although you will be required to sign in on arrival).
